Keith S. Kalemba

Sacred and Liturgical Composer

Keith S. Kalemba is a published composer of sacred music. He earned both his Bachelor of Music in Composition and Master of Music in Composition at Temple University, where he studied with Maurice Wright, Matthew Greenbaum, and Cynthia Folio. He also studied audio engineering and computer music as a graduate fellow.

Keith is a music editor for GIA Publications, a leading publisher of sacred music. Keith’s first experience with Catholic music ministry was as choir director for the Temple University Newman Center where he also had the privilege of being a delegate to the 1994 World Youth Day celebration in Rome. He also serves as a music minister at the Catholic parish of St. John of the Cross in Western Springs, Illinois. Formerly, he was on the music staff of Ascension Church in Oak Park. He has also served on the faculty of the Liturgical Music Institute in Huntington, New York.

He is a founding member and former director of the Chicago chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM). He has presented workshops on pastoral composition, music theory, and liturgical ensembles at several national conventions of NPM, as well as the Orlando Liturgical Conference and the Liturgical Music Institute.
