Prisli Sme Ku Tebe, Jezuliatko

$6.00

I first encountered this Slovak carol from Godfrey Tomanek’s choral setting published by GIA. It is a typical lullaby in triple meter employing rhythms common to the Slavic countries around the Carpathian mountains. This folk song was collected by the Slovak choirmaster Stefan Pysny who was a member of the Music Society of St. Adalbert in Trnava, Slovakia. I edited several of Godfrey’s liturgical pieces in the last decade of his life and dedicated this setting to his memory.
